This copal comes from different cooperatives from the states of Oaxaca, Guerrero, and Hidalgo, México.
We offer the purest & highest-quality copal resin available. Exposed to the air longer, our copal hardens from a yellow sap-like state to a white rock-like resin. This maturity gives it a more potent piney aroma and a powerful clearing & cleansing ability. Where others claim to be white copal, we truly hold the standard, valuing quality and transparency.
Additionally our sacred sticks are hand-dipped fully-coated in the pure resin. We do not “cut” our copal by adding any filler material, nor do we drizzle or dust apply our copal onto the stick.
TEMPLE COPAL is made with 100% Pure Ceremonial-Grade White Copal - no fillers, no additives, no skimping on the resin. Each stick offers a 90+ minute burn time; put-out and re-light as you wish.
Temple Copal is a “wild-harvest” product that does not require agricultural exhaustion or deforestation. Copal is a naturally occurring tree resin that drips and is collected from the Burseraceae Copal tree. No trees are killed during the sap collection process and no land is cleared to grow or farm copal.
WHITE copal is the most scarce & most valued of all copal resins as it has naturally aged the longest. To this day Aztec & Mayan ancestors believe copal to be a medicinal offering from the soul of the trees and a divine connection with the ceremony of nature.

MEET GUSTAVO & GIOVANNA
Gustavo has been working with and gifting this copal incense since 2008, unbranded. He recognized the magic that comes when burning this incense. It became a way of being for him to share copal with people close to him, as a way to bring blessings into their lives, to give gratitude, and to open the path ahead.
In 2018, he had the idea to create a brand and expand by selling it in the USA. For that, he needed partners that resided there. Our friends Zane and Anna became interested and took copal to LA to see how it would sell. At that time, they decided that they wanted to invest in building the brand on their own and Gustavo being the provider of the incense. In 2019, Zane and Anna founded Temple Copal.
Four years later, in early 2023, Zane and Anna decided to offer the brand to Gustavo and Giovanna, since their family was growing and they were invested in other projects. By June of 2023, Gustavo and Giovanna were the new owners of Temple Copal, coming full circle back to where the idea started.
We live in a small coastal town in Nayarit, Mexico. We are both ceremonialists and have studied and received transmission from different native elders in Mesoamérica. We find great joy in sharing our gifts and medicines with our community.
Copal is a big part of our day to day, and we are deeply grateful for the magic and abundance that it has brought into our lives.
